Lone Elder Nursery
|

To bring in the new millenium, we (Tom and Chris Utterback) decided to follow a dream. We both have always enjoyed horticulture and farming, with a special interest in rare and unique trees.
We were lucky enough to discover an ideal property for sale in Canby, Oregon. Located in the heart of the north Willamette Valley, Canby is home to many of the finest nurseries in the country. Richard Bush, a well-known propagator of rare trees, was retiring. We purchased the property and existing plant stock.
With a fondness for conifers and talent for grafting, Bush had accumulated quite a collection of beautiful and rare trees over the years. Many of his original trees still stand proudly in various locations around the nursery and continue to provide a supply of material for propagating.
With the help of a number of generous local OAN members (Oregon Association of Nurserymen) and our own talented staff, Lone Elder Nursery is once again successfully propagating and growing the rare and unique stock that the nursery is noted for.
Over the past year, our propagation volume has increased dramatically. While our interests send us searching for rare and beautiful plants, we continue to propagate and grow the old favorites. We are also going to continue offering a selection of top quality caliper material.
We look forward to meeting and getting to know our customers and encourage you to share with us your needs and interests as well.
